The story behind Footy Tipster

Built from a love of football—not overnight hype.

Footy Tipster began on X in November 2012. What started as a hobby grew into a long-running members service built around honest records, varied football selections and an active community.

How it started

From daily requests on X to a proper members service.

I’ve always followed football closely and enjoyed studying the betting markets. In November 2012 I started sharing selections on X as a hobby. The account grew quickly and more people began asking for tips each day.

That demand led to FootyTipster.co.uk: one place where members could receive the selections, follow the results and join a community of people who enjoy the same side of football.

The aim has stayed simple: share the bets I genuinely believe are worth taking and record what happens afterwards.

The service has evolved over the years, but it has never become about forcing out a bet for the sake of having something to post. Some matchdays offer more opportunities than others, and during quiet periods there may be no selections at all.

Results are not guaranteed—football betting always carries risk—but transparency matters. That is why the published record includes the good periods and the difficult ones.

What the service stands for.

You should be able to understand what you are joining, what it costs and how the selections have performed before deciding whether membership is right for you.

01

Transparency

Selections are recorded after settlement—winners and losers—so performance can be judged over time.

02

No forced bets

Coverage depends on the fixtures and available opportunities, not a promise to send a fixed number every day.

03

A proper community

Members receive the tips by email and can join the Telegram group for updates and football discussion.

The person behind the service

Run by Sam, not a faceless betting brand.

I remain involved in the day-to-day service, from researching the selections to answering members and recording results.

“Great community in the group, you’re responsive, plenty of winners, only tipster I’ve stuck with over the past few years, great service!”Andy · Footy Tipster member
